The Snand of Horsetooth

Slowly catching up on my stock of unedited photographs has began to give me the itch to shoot. To my good fortune, the past evening presented superb lighting and opportunities at Horsetooth Reservoir. This nearby area provides ample scenery for many different types of shooting styles such as mountains, the reservoir itself, sand, wildlife and interesting rock formations.

After a recent snow, heavy winds have weathered unique formations from the local red sandstone and white snow. This combination of snow and sand has given me a fun word I use to describe the combination, snand.

The formed snand provides fantastic leading lines and a variety of abstract formations that leave the imagination of the photographer wide open.
