A two image focus stack at about near sundown looking North towards one of the major backdrops for the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mt. Herard at 13,325 ft.
It certainly is an incredible place. Those mtns block the sand from just going to nowhere and there is a stream that runs in between them that takes the sand back out to be deposited again. It's an awesome cycle! And thanks so much for the comment!
I've taken photos here before (not nearly as good as this) and I know how hard it is to really capture the "feeling" of the immensity of this place. You do a great job of finding places that make for good compositions. The designs in the sand, the shadows, the trees at the mid-line really help give it depth and of course the mountains with some "powered-sugar" type snow and the combo of clouds and blue sky, all come together to make this work. Your skills are noted and your work is appreciated.
