After wandering around on the Gore Range Trail, dog and I suddenly realized we had reached out destination. A magnificent lake nearly carpeted completely by lily pads and a fantastic reflection of the clouds from an approaching storm.
The lake was so captivating, that the pup and I literally sat along its shores for almost two hours, soaking in its beauty and snapping some photos. What a truly magnificent place.
Though this shot is a bit out of my norm, I felt that the typical landscape crop ratio was too center weighted. It didn't take long before the square format soon found its way into my heart.
And though the colors don't jump off the screen, I believe that the composition does. Starting from the large rock in the foreground and leading to the small void in the lily pads, an invisible line leads the viewer's eye throughout the image. At least that's the idea.
