Along the Shores

The final week before the big move to the new house, and I felt as though I needed to visit the one area I photograph more than any other, Horsetooth Reservoir. The area is abundant in rich photographs if you are willing to wander and keep an eye out, and it was only ten minutes from my old apartment.

This intimate nature shot expresses the wonderful combination of warm and cool colors without the over dominating, in your face vibrance. Anytime snow falls along these banks is a good time to capture the complimentary combination of snow against rich red colored sand.

Sadly, this area was hit by the first wildfires of the season less than a week after this shot. Smoke and flames covered the beaches just on the other side of the reservoir and burned over a thousand acres in five short days.
